As Pricey declares her interest in hosting The X Factor, we look at the other famous faces we'd like to see win the job
Olly Murs‘ X Factor microphone isn’t even cold yet after the singer announced he’d be following Caroline Flack in exiting the show, but Katie Price has already thrown her hat into the ‘who will be the new presenter?’ ring.
The glamorous star wasted no time in expressing her interest in hosting the ITV show, taking to Twitter to officially submit her application to head honcho Simon Cowell.
Just hours after Olly confirmed he would be quitting as co-host to focus on his new album, Katie tweeted: ‘I would defo present X factor @ @ @ now that would be interesting.’
Her fans seemed keen on Katie taking the reigns of the hit singing show, with one replying: ‘U wud be fab xxx’ [sic].
Another wrote: ‘Please make this happen!!’
With the new series of the show not set to whirr into action until this summer, it remains to be seen whether Pricey’s bid to win the job will be successful.
But in the meantime, let’s take a look at the other possible candidates we’d love to see fill Caroline and Olly’s shoes…
1. Emma Willis
The current host of Big Brother is the bookies’ favourite to win the coveted position. She also hosts rival show The Voice on BBC One, so to poach her would be a major coup for ITV.
2. Rylan Clark
He first found fame on The X Factor as a bleached blonde, disco-singing wannabe in 2012. Since then, Rylan’s star has risen at an unstoppable rate, with presenting gigs on This Morning and Big Brother’s Bit On The Side. A return to the X Factor stage would see his career come full circle.
3. Stephen Mulhern
He’s already employed on Simon Cowell’s other hit show, Britain’s Got Talent – but could he be about to make the leap to X Factor? He ruled himself out of the race when Dermot O’Leary quit the show in 2014, saying: I’ve said no to The X Factor presenting job. You can’t follow in Dermot’s footsteps, he was too good, so, sad news guys, I’m out the running.’ Could now be his time?
4. Davina McCall
With over 15 years experience hosting live shows, including Big Brother, Popstars: The Rivals (the show that gave us X Factor judge Cheryl, incidentally) and current Channel 4 show The Jump, Davina is more than qualified to take on telly’s biggest gig.
5. Dermot O’Leary
OK, this one is probably wishful thinking – but we can’t be alone in thinking we’d LOVE to see Dermot (and his weekly dance routine) back on that X Factor stage!?
6. Marvin and Rochelle Humes
The husband and wife duo have already proved they’ve got great on-screen chemistry with presenting slots on This Morning, plus they both have experience on a musical reality show – Marvin is the backstage host of The Voice, whilst Rochelle is currently co-presenter on The Xtra Factor.
If for no other reason than we’d LOVE to see what she came out wearing every week – wouldn’t you?
