It’s going to be a right royal wedding for George Clooney and fiancée Amal Alamuddin
His fiancée Amal Alamuddin has been spotted in London visiting Alexander McQueen HQ. Creative director Sarah Burton created Kate‘s stunning wedding dress so it looks like Amal will be walking down the aisle like a princess!
She spent an hour and a half at the Alexander McQueen offices in Clerkenwell, East London, with her mum Baria Alamuddin before she was seen kissing goodbye to a seamstress.
While Alexander McQueen has refused to confirm they are making Amal‘s wedding dress, we’re now expecting a stunning dress fit for a queen!
So what else do we know about georgeous George’s impending nuptials?
George, 53, and Amal, 36, announced their engagement in April this year. The couple got their wedding licence from Kensington and Chelsea register office in August and a notice was posted outside Chelsea Old Town Hall saying the couple would marry in Italy. The big day is expected to be later this month!
Of course George owns the perfect wedding venue already – his amazing Villa Oleandra on Lake Como. The couple are expected to marry in a ‘small and intimate’ ceremony in Italy but split the celebrations between there and London.
Last week, Amal was rumoured to be pregnant after wearing a billowing dress but George‘s rep confirmed this week that she ‘is not pregnant’. Sources have said the couple ARE hoping to start a family once they’re wed though.
Of course, George – who was married to first wife actress Talia Balsam between 1989 and 1993 – has done a 360 since meeting human rights lawyer Amal. Back in 1995, he told Barbara Walters, ‘I won’t get married again because I wasn’t very good at it.’
George has also said, ‘I don’t expect to ever get married again or have children. I am never at home and every woman gets sick of it … If I was them, I would never put up with me for long – and they don’t.’
Well, now Amal is putting up with him it looks like George will be putting up with sleepless nights and dirty nappies too! Wow, that’s one heck of a U turn.
