Will.i.am has some words for The X Factor boss
The Black Eyed Peas star managed to big up The Voice while slamming its singing contest competitor on its heartlessness.
Talking to the Daily Star, he said: ‘On the voice, I’m not judging you with my opinion, I’m judging you with my ears. But on X Factor… these people are beholden to one f**ing opinion.’
That one opinion, he feels, is Mr Cowell. Now that’s fightin’ talk.
He added: ‘I cannot judge you and be prejudiced on how you look, how old you are, how tall or fat or skinny you are, how straight you are, how white you are, how black you are. I’m blind and my back is turned.
‘If you look at the format it’s actually beautiful.’
Though after putting the boot into Simon Cowell’s pride and joy, he goes after the man himself.
‘When you see Simon on TV you’re like, “Wow, you’re a monster. You’re so mean to these people”. But when you get to know him you’re like, “Wait a second! You’re not that guy”.
‘The reason you see this unanimous behaviour on The Voice when none of us turn, but then we’re all nice, is because we have all been told “no” in the past.
‘Every single one of us knows what it’s like to feel shut down and disrespected.’
With The Voice moving to ITV after this series, it looks like Will.i.am might be cutting his ties to the show in advance.
