Bettlejuice, bettlejuice BEETLEJUICE! Grab your costumes, the cult classic film is coming back!

This afternoon the Now! Magazine office erupted in a series of teenage-like squeals when we heard the news that Beetlejuice 2 is set to return. Amaze, right!?

In case Tim Burton and Michael Keaton talking about it in practically every interview they’ve done over the past year isn’t enough confirmation for you, Winona Ryder has now also confirmed that Beetlejuice 2 is in fact a thing that is happening.

Winona, 43 – who played the slightly odd but lovely Lydia Deets in the film when she was 16 – was asked about the sequel during an interview on last night’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, a stateside chatshow.

‘I think I can confirm it,’ she answered.

Speaking about Tim Burton’s involvement, the actress added: ‘It was very hush-hush, top-secret. Oh, I don’t know, it may happen, then he was doing some press for ‘Big Eyes,’ and he did an on-camera interview, and he said, “Oh, yeah, we’re doing it, and Winona’s going to be in it.” […] But I really don’t know much more than anybody else.’

Beetlejuice is the 1988 comedic dark fantasy film directed by Burton.

The film starred Winona as Goth teenager Lydia, who moves into a haunted house and is introduced to the sly and crude poltergeist, played by Micheal Keaton.

Just as excited as us was the fabulous world of Twitter! The reactions came in thick and fast!

Our week has been made. Thanks Winona!
