Thomas Brodie-Sangster is no longer the little kid in Love Actually anymore, he's now 24 and in Wolf Hall!
We’re a tiny bit obsessed with historical drama Wolf Hall,
with all it’s intrigue, back-stabbing and 16th century-style fun. If
you can call it fun…
However, we were shocked when we noticed the little kid from Love Actually, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, all grown up playing the role of England’s ambassador to Scotland Sir Ralph Sadler. Um, how did he get so old?!
It was only when we looked back that we realised that Love Actually was released in 2003 – a shock 12 years ago. Little Thomas was 12 himself when he played the adorable role of Sam, the son of Liam Neeson‘s character Daniel.
Remember his cute little scene with the drum, trying to get the girl? And the pep talk his dad gives him about love? Ah, we’re gonna have to dig the DVD out this weekend…
And it turns out it’s not the only role the now 24 year old (24! Can you believe it?!) has played in recent years. He also made appearances in Game of Thrones as Jojen Reed and even Doctor Who a few years back.
Despite his different performances, Thomas admits it is Love Actually – which featured a whole host of stars including Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson and even Martine McCutcheon! – he gets most recognised for.
He joked recently: ‘It’s on every Christmas at least three times! I haven’t seen the film in its entirety for a long time. I don’t need to. I went to see it at premieres and screenings. The first time it came on TV I watched it, I got the DVD and watched it. It was exciting for me!
‘People talk about it all the time. I’m always remembered as the cute little boy who plays the drums and gets the girl in the end. But it’s fine!’
