We speak exclusively to the YouTuber set to be X Factor's new Xtra Factor host

It’s not just the X Factor judging panel set for a dramatic shake up this year, but the Xtra Factor too.

After last year’s host Sarah Jane Crawford announced she was leaving the show after just one series, YouTube sensation Jim Chapman has spilled all on his secret auditions to replace the former presenter.

‘I have been for a couple of castings already,’ Jim exclusively told us at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. ‘I went along with [Zoella’s brother] Joe Sugg, but I don’t think they’d cast us together.’

Why the hell not, Simon? We’d personally LOVE them to cast the two web celebs together. Between their millions of loyal online subscribers, we’re sure the show would get its biggest ever viewing figures if this were to happen.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Jim, he’s the easy-on-the-eye
model and fashion vlogger, who has amassed over two million subscribers
to his YouTube channel. He also happens to be engaged to equally awesome
beauty blogger Tanya Burr.

But this isn’t the first time Jim has been wooed by Simon.

‘I’ve been in talks to present some of Simon Cowell‘s shows before, but it never ended up working out,’ Jim admitted. ‘I think they’re still a bit nervous about bringing a YouTuber on board.’

But Simon isn’t only looking to YouTube to find his hit new host. Earlier this week The Sun revealed that Big Brother winner-turned-TV-presenter Brian Dowling (remember him?) has also had a screen test, where he was made to interview Essex X Factor rejects 2 Shoes (remember them?). Pop Idol stars Sam ‘n’ Mark, This Morning host Matt Johnson and Kiss FM DJs Ricky and Melvin are also being considered.

While Jim waits to hear his fate on the hit ITV2 show, he also revealed his excitement at his upcoming wedding to his beauty-blogger fiancée Tanya Burr.

‘Our wedding is coming on slowly too. I heard Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan spent 60k on their flowers, that’s more than ours completely!’

Fingers crossed Jim lands the job, what a wedding present that’d be.
