The X Factor is full of controversy already!

X Factor hopeful Anton Banaghan has apologized after it’s emerged he was arrested as a teenager.

Reports yesterday revealed how the 21-year-old was charged with robbery after stealing a mobile phone from a female care worker three years ago.

And after being picked up by the police, the potential pop star later pleaded guilty to the crime at Swords District Court in Dublin.

His solicitor Fiona D’Arcy said at the time: ‘He has been in care at the residential unit since he was 15 and says he lost his temper on the day. He has anger management issues and is getting counselling. This incident came out of no-where and he apologised for it.’

Following his past coming back to haunt him, the X Factor contestant has approached the subject with nothing but honesty.

Taking to his Facebook to address the incident, Anton wrote: ‘First of all I just want to say that everybody makes mistakes…I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my past….I regret them of course…now if any of the papers read this…I hope you listen well…..I have dealt with all my actions and consequences….that was in the past…things were not easy for me…and they things are never perfect for anyone…now by putting thos articles up i think is pathetic…im trying to.make something of my life and i dont need it to be thrown away by nosy people…thank you very much…guys ive come a long way since all that shite….believe me also…i am going to well…and i wont stop untill i reach my peak xxxxxxxx’

It’s nice to see someone being so open about their past, isn’t it?
