What's going on with Kate Middleton, Prince William and Baby Wales this week?
Every week in the Royal Bump Watch Newsletter, we bring you the latest Kate Middleton and Prince William news, as well as what’s going on with HRB (His Royal Babyness) Baby Wales – yes, it’s a ‘he’ week!
With roughly 11 weeks to go, Kate‘s baby bump is getting much bigger and the future heir is putting pressure on her bladder – so spare a thought for Kate when she’s attending all these public events, she’s probably dying to go to the loo most of the time!
Kate will also notice that she’s gaining more weight over the next few weeks than ever before. That’s because her baby is going through a growth spurt and quickly increasing in size.
Baby’s brain is developing at a staggering pace, so Kate also needs to remember to keep taking her prenatal vitamins throughout this third trimester.
But how’s our King-to-be getting on in Womb-ingham Palace? Let’s get the ruler and the scales out…
How long is he? It’s time for Kate to put her feet up in the evenings and crack open a few boxsets – and while she’s watching the telly she can think: ‘Baby Wales is now roughly 38.6cm long – that’s the same as a 15in flat screen TV!’
How much does he weigh? It’s getting cramped in there – he weighs approx 1.1kg (2.5lbs), the same weight as a small roast chicken that would serve four!
What’s he up to? Kate and Wills‘ baby’s lungs are now developed enough for him to breathe air and he is even urinating about half a litre of urine into the amniotic fluid every day.
Amazing fact! Kate may already start to notice a little ‘early milk’ leaking from her boobs. This is actually colostrum – a sticky substance that will feed her baby during the first few days if Kate chooses to breastfeed. The ‘proper’ milk may not start for one or two days after the baby arrives.
