What's going on with Kate Middleton, Prince William and Baby Wales this week?
Every week in the Royal Bump Watch Newsletter, we bring you the latest Kate Middleton and Prince William news, as well as what’s going on with HRB (Her Royal Babyness) Baby Wales – yes, it’s a ‘she’ week!
With roughly 12 weeks to go Kate‘s now in her third trimester and is on the home stretch to D-day (that’s Delivery Day. Eek!).
Kate will be able to feel her baby moving A LOT now (in fact she might move so much she wakes Kate up at night) and she will be starting to see a pattern in when she moves and sleeps. The midwife will most likely have advised Kate to make sure that she can feel at least 10 movements within an hour. Yep, there’s a Royal D-I-S-C-O going on in there.
But how’s our future Queen getting on in Womb-ingham Palace? Let’s get the ruler and the scales out…
How long is she? Baby Wales now measures about 37.6cm from head to heel, that’s approx the same as the height of your daily newspaper.
How much does she weigh? About 1.1kg – just over the weight of a 1kg bag of sugar, but a whole lot sweeter!
What’s she up to? Kate may be starting to feel the weight of Baby Wales, but her baby still has to get a good bit heavier before she’s ready to make her entrance into the world – the little ‘un is still just a third of what she’ll probably weigh when she’s born.
Her skin is red and covered in vernix (a waxy, cheese-like substance) and her brain is now developing its folds and grooves.
Her eyes are now also open and she will soon start blinking.
Amazing fact! Kate may be able to feel Baby Wales hiccuping!
