What's going on with Kate Middleton, Prince William and Baby Wales this week?
Every week in the Royal Bump Watch Newsletter, we bring you the latest Kate Middleton and Prince William news, as well as what’s going on with HRB (His Royal Babyness) Baby Wales – yes, it’s a ‘he’ week!
With roughly 13 weeks to go Kate‘s two thirds of the way to labour day. Probably time for William to strap on his DIY belt, assemble the flat-pack cot and make sure their home (or homes) is ready for the new arrival.
But how’s our future King getting on in Womb-ingham Palace? Let’s get the ruler and the scales out…
How long is he? From here on in, we’re ditching the crown-to-rump measurement for head-to-heel. Baby Wales has doubled in length in the last 15 weeks, and is about 36cm long – a smidge taller than a 750g box of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes.
How much does he weigh? About 1kg. The same as anything else that weighs 1kg, including one of those GIANT bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk. Yum.
What’s he up to? Baby Wales‘ brain tissue and neurons are developing at a rapid pace, firing off brain waves like a newborn baby! His retinas are beginning to form, his eyelids are beginning to open and he’s developing regular patterns of sleep and activity.
Amazing fact! If Baby Wales is born this week, he’ll have an 85 per cent chance of survival – as his lungs are now capable of breathing air – albeit with medical assistance.
More news next week…
