Dan Stevens has a new career in the US
Downton Abbey‘s Matthew Crawley – played by the beautiful Dan Stevens – died in the Christmas special so I don’t understand why the show has been called ‘unbelievably boring’.
Not only was there a death, there was a birth and a punch-up – plenty of action, I thought.
I don’t watch Downton for wild sex scenes and car smashes, though Matthew did cop it in his gorgeous car, I’m addicted to the fabulous costumes and slow pace of this period drama.
Maggie Smith gets the best caustic lines, of course, and always seems to be having a fabulous time.
The only thing that I found disconcerting was that Lady Mary gave birth ‘a liitle early’ to very healthy son when she only looked about 4 months pregnant.
Michelle Dockery is a slender actress but I fail to see how she could have had a 6lb baby tucked away in a bump that barely showed.
She’s now got to raise the miracle child without her loving husband as Dan is now starring in Broadway play The Heiress.
‘Downton was a very monopolising job. So there is a strange sense of liberation at the same time as great sadness because I am very, very fond of the show and always will be,’ Dan told the Daily Mirror.
The actor is a big hit with female fans in the US. But we’d like him back.
If Lady Mary can produce an infant without swelling up, then Matthew can survive his accident, despite his glassy death stare and bloody ears.
We’ve only just buried Lady Sybil, I’m not ready for another funeral.
