These guys sing disco in their official uniforms

I confess that none of the contestants on this year’s X Factor have excited me.

Sam Bailey can certainly sing but would I buy her album? I don’t think so.

I do so love Gareth Malone‘s TV series The Choir, though.

Which is why I am currently hooked on the Russian Police Choir‘s YouTube video cover of Daft Punk’s Get Lucky.

(I think the all-male group are officially the Russian Folk Song And Dance Ensemble Of The Interior Ministry but that’s definitely not a catchy name, guys.)

The Russian Ministry Of Internal Affairs has confirmed that the choir was rehearsing the song for a concert celebrating the Day Of Police in the Kremlin, even though they didn’t perform it in the end.

Apparently some deemed the song too disgraceful. Shame!

What Simon Cowell needs to do (apart from getting Cheryl Cole back as a judge) is invite the Russian Police Choir on as an X Factor guest act. (And sign them up pronto, I suggest.)

Actually, now I come to think of it, they could do a number with prison warder Sam in her uniform for the final. Brilliant idea!
