Sorry Britain, I just don't get the fuss with Andy Murray, or the tennis

I couldn’t care less about Wimbledon orAndy Murray. I really tried but I just couldn’t get into it. I don’t understand what all the fuss is about, it’s just a very slow game of whacking a ball across the net (and most of the time not very well).

I leap at the chance to cheer Britain on, but this was just plain boring. I couldn’t muster up any enthusiasm whatsoever.

The whole thing turned me into a bit of a girl – the most exciting thing about it for me was Posh‘s new hairdo and outfit. For once I thought she looked good.

The papers are all over Andy‘s girlfriend Kim Sears. Move over Pippa Middleton, there’s a new middle-class favourite in town.

I feel bad as I like to get behind these patriotic events, and the Olympics and Paralympics consumed me. I could see the achievement and skill, but tennis?

Not a patch on the wheelchair Paralympic tennis match I watched in the summer of 2012.

So yesterday while the country was mesmerised by the Murray vs Djokovik game, I was bored out of my mind. It wasn’t helped by the fact it was our wedding anniversary weekend away, and I ended up being a tennis widow for the afternoon.

Sat in a pub munching on scampi and chips drinking Pimm’s made it bearable for a short while.

And now there’s talk of Andy Murray receiving a knighthood. Really? Surely there is some other more deserving fellow out there. Sorry Andy, and Britain, I just don’t get it.
