Rita Ora has made a shock career decision after her messy split from Calvin Harris

The wait is over – the Beeb has finally announced who will be replacing Kylie Minogue’s curvy bottom on The Voice.

Step forward Rita Ora.

The pop starlet of the moment has taken over the helm as the third female judge the show has ever had following in the footsteps of Jessie J and Kylie.

But is that wise Rita, and why now?

At the tender age of 23, she has the world at her feet – with her records filling up the Top 10 in the charts, not to mention her Adidas clothing range which has the likes of Beyonce and Blue Ivy rocking them.

She was even said to be shortlisted by Simon Cowell to be a judge on The X Factor once upon a time – but she declined that in favour of her pop career.

And on the subject of her pop career, it appears to be stalling when it comes to putting out her next album.

Could that be because a certain Scotsman, her ex boyfriend Calvin Harris is supposedly banning her from using the tracks they collaborated on together for her next album, including chart-topper I Will Never Let you Down?

Oh dear. That didn’t end well then.

was less than pleased when Rita talked about their romance after it ended, and he shut her down with a series of abrupt tweets. Ouch.

Her track record with her exes has not been the best after she fell out with Rob Kardashian too after their very public split and his famous Twitter rant, making unfounded accusations she cheated on him. Their split has not been great for her socially after she apparently was kept away from Kim Kardashian at the GQ Awards earlier this month because of the family fall-out.

So now she has all this time on her hands, waiting to find out when her album will be released, perhaps this is why she has decided to accept the role on the BBC show? A bit of a strange choice as it has not quite matched up to X Factor in the ratings war.

Let’s hope her joining The Voice won’t mean R.I.P to the girl she used to be. Afterall, after Jessie J’s stint on the show her popularity seemed to wane, and the popstar has since uprooted to the USA where her ‘voice can be appreciated.’

And spare a thought for poor Kylie, whose last album flopped. Was that due to The Voice curse too?

Good luck, Rita!
