Is there anything more depressing than Josie's new business venture, asks mum Sarah Tetteh

Whatever happened to being an independent woman ‘throw your hands in the air’ Destiny’s Child style?

Well, Josie Cunningham has come along and certainly made a mockery of all that.

The controversial star has launched a website encouraging women to get pregnant and scrounge off the state like she does.

We kid you not. In a less-than-classy move, the mum-of-three has helped create a website where desperate women can meet men and arrange seedy unprotected sex sessions with the aim of getting pregnant.

Josie told The Sun: ‘People will think I’m promoting unprotected sex so women can get pregnant, bag themselves a council house and have a life on benefits.

‘But it’s really no different to what many girls have one night stands on a Saturday night. Parents gain more points in many councils’ scoring systems so having a child definitely helps.’

What kind of a message is this to give out to young girls who could opt for a decent education and go for an inspiring profession rather than becoming a gymslip mum for cash?

Having a baby is certainly not something to be taken lightly, especially if – as this website suggests – you then have to do it on your own. The continual screaming, nappy changes, and complete overhaul of your single girl life makes motherhood not just a 24/7 job but also a tough emotional adjustment for any woman. So if the girls who sign up to this site think they’ll have time to enjoy their council flat, they better think again. It will hardly be the bacherlorette pad of your dreams. Party over here, bring a bottle? More like a milk bottle!

And it’s not just babies that are a result of unprotected sex – there is also the small matter of sexually transmitted diseases. You know, things like chlamydia that can cause infertility. The site may be called but that doesn’t mean you’ll get them.

Finally, you have to wonder how having a baby like this could affect a child in the future. It might be OK for Josie to chuckle that she doesn’t know who fathered her three-month-old daughter Grace. But carelessly having a one night stand and falling pregnant is hardly the ideal start a mum should want for their child.

This is the latest in a series of revelations from Josie who sparked controversy when she first boasted of a boob job on the NHS, then threatened to abort her baby to star in Big Brother.

In a further blow Josie also revealed that she is awaiting the results of a paternity test for baby Grace – and will tell the dad of her daughter the results in a Christmas card.

Josie sent off DNA tests to find out which of three possible men is really her daughter’s dad.

And when the results come back in two weeks she will post them to all three men in cheery festive cards on Christmas Eve. How nice.

It’s hardly the Immaculate Conception, is it?
