She's still Jenny from the block and Jennifer Lopez has proved it this week...
I’m still, I’m still Jenny from the block,’ she once sang eleven years ago and this week she proved she meant every word.
Despite having all the money in the world to spend on her appearance, Jennifer Lopez, 44, has recently admitted she’s so far decided to grow old gracefully.
‘Sorry Sir, but I have never had plastic surgery of any kind,’ she tweeted to a surgeon who claimed that her face showed many signs of plastic surgery.’
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi tweeted pics of her face saying: ‘These before and after pics of @JLo show many signs of #plasticsurgery – naturally pretty but now looks amazing.’
But the London-based surgeon blamed his assistant for the tweets that he says were sent without his consent and has since apologised to the star after he was blasted by furious J-Lo fans and called a fake doctor’.
Ouch. Something tells me the trigger-happy tweets are going to hurt much more than any of his facial procedures!
J-Lo, like the most wonderful fine wine, is ageing beautifully – something of a rarity in the showbiz world. And so how refreshing to know that she’s so far refused all plastic surgery in a bid to turn back time.
She definitely doesn’t need it. But neither do most celebrities who have their faces pumped with Botox or fillers. Anyway, with an ass like hers how many of us are actually looking at her face anyway?
Hands up, I’m absolutely terrified of the ageing process. I don’t know why, because my mum has no wrinkles whatsoever, only a couple of faint laughter lines around her eyes, which are merely a beautiful reminder of a lifetime of happy times. And my grandma is the same…
But it doesn’t stop me smothering my face in expensive creams (we’re talking a different cream for lips, eyes, face body, feet and hands) morning, noon and night, and scrutinising every single bit at any available opportunity.
I’m not ashamed to admit that since entering my 30s I’ve considered Botox too – I haven’t had it yet – and I’m under no illusion that if my penchant for prosecco and partying doesn’t kill me first, I’ll probably have some sort of facial procedure in my fifties.
But perhaps it’s time to stop all that now? J-Lo‘s refusal to bow down to the pressure of eternal youth has certainly given me some food for thought.
