Dan Wootton's weekly blog Behind the Interview: What BGT's Loveable Rogues were REALLY like
They walked into the posh London hotel where we were meeting for my Now interview with wide eyes, clearly amazed at the opulence around them.
They are three Essex lads done good, enjoying every minute of their unexpected success.
Since being signed by Simon Cowell after a distinctive audition performance of their own tune Lovesick (the only love song to include rhyming lyrics about pork pies and come to bed eyes), they make it clear to me just how much they have enjoyed life as up and coming popstars – and, of course, that includes quite a lot of rogue-worthy antics.
In fact, without too much pushing on my part, the trio happily open up about their sexual encounters with female fans. For the first two months after BGT, there was at least a girl a night.
Te would be in bed and I’d knock on his door and say: “I need you mate because there are two girls out here!”‘ Eddie told me.
But Eddie’s mum will be relieved to hear that lifestyle quickly became too exhausting. Now we don’t have the stamina – we’d rather sleep,’ he added.
Young Sonny is the quietest member of the trio but he reveals, despite Katie Price giving him the eye when they met last year at an X Factor tour performance in Brighton, his real celebrity crush is fellow Essex celebrity Gemma Collins.
I love that she’s from Essex and voluptuous. She’s got a great personality too, which is what counts in a woman,’ he gushed.
She’d look after me and that’s what counts. But I think I also like it because my mum would hate it if I brought an older woman back. Gemma is more like my mum’s age.’
I’m going to try and play matchmaker here. After all, Gemma needs someone to help her get over Arg. I will let you know how I get on!
