Before finding fame on Channel 4’s final series of Big Brother, Josie Gibson was raised in Yate, South Gloucestershire.

She is one of six children and enrolled at Brimsham Green School in Yate.
 
Over the years, Josie held several jobs across Bristol and South Gloucestershire including a financial sales rep.

Big Brother selected Josie to be the first housemate of the eleventh series and she walked into the house on 9 June 2010.

Throughout her stay, she received only five nominations for eviction and never faced the public vote.

On day 66 of the show, the other housemates chose Josie to receive a ticket to the final and she was announced as the winner on day 77.

Josie took the Big Brother crown with an impressive 77.5% of the public vote. She donated £20,000 of her £100,000 prize money to children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

During her time in the house, Josie grew close to fellow housemate John James Parton. Upon leaving Big Brother, the pair revealed that they were in a relationship.

After her winning interview with Davina McCall, she confirmed she was going to take part in Ultimate Big Brother then re-entered the house 18 minutes later.

On day 3 of the competition, Josie Gibson walked out while other housemates were nominating.

In October 2010, along with John James, she appeared in a one-off reality show called Josie And John James: What Happened Next.

The former contestant released a perfume called Josie in early 2011 as well as a range of hooded tops on her official website.

Josie began her presenting career on 14 February 2011, when she took on the role of a showbiz reporter for Channel 5 show OK! TV.  The programme finished on 16 December the same year.

On 4 April 2011, Josie confirmed via Twitter that her relationship with John James was over.

She dated Luke Sanwo from 2011 and the couple became engaged in early 2012.

In March 2013, it was reported that the pair had split. However in June 2013, Josie told fans that after a two-month break, they were back together.

Josie Gibson became a qualified personal trainer and nutritional advisor, having released two fitness DVDs and a book.
