Brooke Vincent was born to mum Nicola and dad Anthony in Manchester in 1992. Her parents divorced when she was 2.

She has an older brother called Zak and younger half-sister called Maisie.

The budding actress attended Fairfield High School for Girls and studied acting at college.

She landed her first role in 2002 in an episode of The League of Gentleman before getting her break in Coronation Street in 2004.

Brooke took over the character of Sophie Webster, previously played by Emma Woodward, and has been in Corrie ever since.

The youngster always kept her feet on the ground though and held a Saturday job working at a local hair salon as a teenager.

After several years on Corrie, Brooke Vincent found herself at the centre of a major storyline in 2010 when Sophie developed feelings for her best friend Sian Powers, played by Sacha Parkinson.

Sophie became the soap’s first lesbian character. She embarked on a relationship with Sian which became very popular with viewers.

Sadly things didn’t work out for Sophie and Sian. The young couple prepared to marry in 2011 but Sian ended up fleeing their wedding in tears after Sophie stumbled on her vows.

Brooke has always been close friends with Sacha in real life, having become pals when they attended drama classes together as children.

In 2011 Brooke Vincent started dating footballer Josh McEachran. They were reported to have split in June 2014 but it was speculated in September that they had reunited.

Despite her successful career, Brooke still lives at home with her mum, stepdad and little sister.

Acting is clearly in the family. Brooke was thrilled when her younger cousin Ellie Leach landed the role of Faye Windass in Coronation Street in 2011.

The actress is very active on social media. She’s a godmother to several children and regularly shares pictures of them.
