Perrie Edwards was born to mum Deborah and dad Alexander in South Shields in 1993. She has an older brother named Jonnie.

Perrie studied at St Peter And Paul RC Primary School and Mortimer Community College.

She then enrolled at Newcastle College to do a BTEC in performing arts.

In 2011 Perrie auditioned for The X Factor. She failed to make it past boot camp as a solo artist or in her first group.

However, Perrie was given a final chance when the panel awarded her a place in a new girl band.

Perrie Edwards was joined by Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock and they became Little Mix going on to win the competition.

Their first two singles both reached No 1 on the UK Top 40.

They’ve since enjoyed huge success around the world.

In her personal life, Perrie got engaged to One Direction singer Zayn Malik in August 2013. They came through several controversies together, including Zayn’s exit from One Direction in March 2015, but sadly in August 2015 it was announced that they’d split up.

As of 2017 it’s been revealed she’s loved up with new boyfriend, footballer Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain and the relationship is still going strong.
