Game on. I asked Simon what he thought of his rival and he let rip

Yesterday I went down to the rather swanky press launch party for series seven of Britain’s Got Talent.

High tea and champagne? Check. Well, what else would you expect from Simon Cowell?

And of course the biggest diva on telly was very late to his own launch (but that meant more time munching cake, so I won’t complain).

I can’t reveal anything about the show’s acts yet (you’ll have to tune in tomorrow night to see) – but there are some awesome, amazing performances (and some totally crap ones, but of course).

At the press conference with judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden after the screening, I got in there and asked Simon Cowell the question that I was itching to ask – what exactly does he think of the BBC’s rival show, The Voice?

He replied, rather cattily, ‘What’s that? What channel? Have they paid for it again? Ouch.’

Ooh, miaow!

He then told us that the Beeb need to ‘fix those chairs… and keep them turned round.’

Presumably so we can’t see Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue‘s faces.

Simon‘s never one to hold back – and though I’ll be watching both shows, for sure, I’m glad to have Mr Scary back on telly.

* Britain’s Got Talent is on 7pm, ITV1, Saturday.
