My love affair with Wife Swap is over...

I’m sorry to say it, but I think Wife Swap has had its day.

The celebrity special last week showed that, shocker, Freddie Starr was an over-the-hill ‘comedian’ who thought the woman’s place was in the kitchen. That was about it really. It just didn’t cut it in the way the first celeb swaps did.

I still, however, had high hopes for this week’s ‘normal’ people swap especially as it was set in Spain and I thought that might mix it up a bit.

It ticked all the boxes it should: two extreme opposites, arguments, hygiene issues, crying children etc. but it was just a bit boring. I felt like I’d seen it all before, but that was probably because I had.

The families are now always so opposite they’re never really going to find common ground or back down, so it doesn’t really achieve anything.

I don’t want to ever praise Lizzie Bardsley, but that was a high it just can’t recreate.

So sorry Wife Swap it was good while it lasted, but I think I’m going to be filing for divorce.
