Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin are keen to go on the road

Ant & Dec are taking Saturday Night Takeaway on a national arena tour – their first since their PJ & Duncan heyday 17 years ago.

The pair have announced they’ll be doing 16 dates around the country – including their home city of Newcastle – after declaring it their ‘favourite’ TV show.

Speaking at a press conference in London’s O2 this morning, Declan Donnelly, 38, told Now’s Jessica Bolton: No two shows will be the same.

‘The audience will be really involved. We can’t wait to get on the road.’

The pair promise loads of celebrity guests, more Ant vs Dec daredevil challenges and even big money prizes for audience members.

The tour is due to start next summer after the next TV series.

It’ll be the first time Ant & Dec have hit the road together since they were in the charts with Let’s Get Ready To Rumble in 1994.

Yet they insist they’re strong enough to survive any tour bus squabbles.

Ant McPartlin, 37, laughs: If we’re not fed up with each other now after all these years, when we’ve lived together and we still live four doors way from each other, I don’t think touring will bother us…’
