Actress says he's got the right energy for the part

Billie Piper has been giving new Doctor Who Matt Smith some words of wisdom about starring in the hit BBC show.

The actress, who played sidekick Rose Tyler in the series, has been friends with the 26-year-old since he appeared in her saucy ITV2 drama Secret Diary Of A Call Girl.
‘He called me and said “What am I going to do?”’ she tells the Daily Star Sunday.

But Billie, 26, is confident Matt will do a good job when he takes over from David Tennant in 2010.

‘Your life completely changes as it’s such a huge show, just about the biggest show on TV,’ she adds. ‘He’s just about to embark on that.

‘But I’m a big fan of Matt. He’s a stirring actor and has the right energy for the part of the Doctor. The role is in good hands.’
