Big Brother could be returning to a screen near you

Channel 5 boss Richard Desmond is in talks with Big Brother producers Endemol to film a new series of the reality show.

A celebrity edition could be on air in months and regular Big Brother – which made Josie Gibson and the late Jade Goody famous – is likely to be back on TV in 2012.

‘Talks started last year,’ says a Channel 5 insider.

‘They didn’t get anywhere initially, but both sides kept in touch and discussions are most definitely back on again.

‘The deal hasn’t been signed yet but top people are talking to each other.

‘Watch this space.’

Former BB host Davina McCall, 43, who presented the show for all its 10 years, is backing Big Brother’s Little Brother host Emma Willis, 34, to take over her duties.

‘[Emma] loves the programme and is a great presenter,’ Davina tells the Daily Star.

‘Any channel that picks up BB would be a very lucky channel.

‘But I think I’ve said goodbye.’

A Channel 5 spokeswoman has declined to comment.
