Channel 5 sign a deal for Big Brother
Big Brother will be back on our TV screens later this year – it’s official.
Channel 5 have signed a 2-year deal with the hit show’s creators and production company Endemol UK.
We’ll first be treated to a new series of Celebrity Big Brother, followed by a regular version of the warts-and-all reality programme.
‘We’re hugely excited to have secured the return of Big Brother for Channel 5 which will form a key part of this year’s schedule,’ says the channel’s Director of Programmes Jeff Ford.
‘The series has previously captivated a decade of television viewers and we aim to bring Channel 5‘s energy, optimism and vibrancy to the series.’
Big Brother concluded on Channel 4 last summer with its 11th series, followed by Ultimate BB, featuring contestants from previous shows. Former air steward Brian Downey was delighted to be voted the viewers’ favourite housemates of all time.
Big Brother 11 winner Josie Gibson has ruled out returning to the house but knows who she’d like to watch on BB.
‘Too many good memories think it would make me a bit sad. X,’ she Tweeted today.
‘I would love to see The Rock in there. Omg that would b amazing x.’
