The coach had to deny he was dating finalist Bo Bruce last year

Danny O’Donoghue will be seen hugging pretty blonde Alice Barlow on tonight’s episode of The Voice.

The Script frontman, 32, embraces ex-Hollyoaks actress Alice, 21, when she breaks down during rehearsals for the show’s battle rounds, telling her: ‘Come here, love. Don’t cry, don’t cry’.

Alice gets emotional about competing against visually-impaired songstress Andrea Begley in a performance of Birdy‘s hit People Help The People.

She’s worried that Danny will choose Andrea over her because the 26-year-old has a ‘pure and innocent’ voice.

Andrea is so amazing at being able to do it with such feeling. I struggle because I’m used to putting on a persona and not being me,’ says Alice.

Danny told Alice after her first audition that she was a ‘lovely-looking girl’ but the Cheshire singer – who played Rae Wilson in Hollyoaks – has a boyfriend.

This isn’t the first time that Danny has got touchy-feely with one of his contestants.

Last year, the Irishman was forced to deny that he’d hooked up with finalist¬†Bo Bruce.
