Kierston Wareing lost her baby during filming

EastEnders actress Kierston Wareing has revealed that she had a miscarriage on set.

The 37-year-old was expecting when she took on the role of Kirsty Branning last year but sadly lost her baby while filming scenes for the BBC soap.

‘[My contract] was supposed to be a year, but I was pregnant when I started on EastEnders – I thought I was going to lose the job,’ says Kierston.

‘They said no I wasn’t, and I was going to do six months, then I had a miscarriage on set.’

Kierston‘s character has been a part of some big storylines since she was introduced as Max Branning‘s secret wife on last year’s Christmas special.

One of these saw Kirsty faking a pregnancy to keep Max – who’s played by Jake Wood – which she admits was difficult under the circumstances.

‘It’s been hard, especially at four months when you’ve got the baby scan picture and everything’s fine,’ Kierston tells OK!

EastEnders were very supportive during that time. They were worried when they told me they wanted me to do a fake pregnancy and I said: “Don’t worry, it’s totally different.”‘
