Raymond says there are 'not much skills' on GBBO

The Great British Bake Off‘s Ruby Tandoh has hit back at Raymond Blanc after he described the show as being full of ‘female tears’.

Ruby, 21, complained that ‘misogyny – even accidental – deserves no respect’ after chef Raymond, 63, appeared to direct a harsh Tweet about GBBO at her.

‘the great British bake off. Not much skills, female tears , And a winner so thin who makes me doubt of her love for great cooking, baking,’ Tweeted Raymond yesterday.

Ruby replied: ‘@raymond_blanc ‘female tears’?! and what has anyone’s size got to do with it? i don’t care if you’re a patisserie king – don’t be an idiot.’

It wasn’t only Raymond‘s insult that offended people – viewers were worried that he’d inadvertently revealed that Ruby had won the contest.

But a source later reassured fans that Raymond hasn’t seen tonight’s final and judge Paul Hollywood quipped: ‘@raymond_blanc wow Raymond have you seen the winner already ???’

Raymond has now apologised for his post.

‘Ok, sorry guys, I was a grumpy Frenchman this morning. I don’t know who has won #GBBO, but can’t wait to find out…,’ Tweeted Raymond.

‘It seems my tweet was not written how it was meant to. Frenchman writing English!’
