Tina succumbed to her injuries last night

Michelle Keegan was feeling very emotional when her Coronation Street street character Tina McIntyre died on-screen last night.

Barmaid Tina had been in a coma since Marc Baylis‘s character Rob Donovan pushed her off a balcony and bludgeoned her with a metal pipe last week but has now lost her battle for life.

‘It’s an end of an era…Thank you to all you lovely people who changed my life, supported and made the last 6 and a half years so special…,’ Tweeted Michelle, 27 today, after the episode.

‘..To you all I’m eternally grateful. Thank you to coronation street for putting me on the most amazing path and allowing me live my dream…

‘I’m going to miss Tina so much but a part of her will be with me forever… #byebyetina 💗.’

Michelle joined Corrie in 2008 and will now see her exit storyline run for the next few months as scammer Rob tries to evade justice.

The stunning star – who’s engaged to ex-TOWIE hunk Mark Wright – wasn’t the only one who was moved by Tina‘s passing yesterday.

‘Was emotional watching Tina pass away tonight on corrie nanny pat cried x,’ Tweeted Mark‘s mum Carol.

His sister Jessica wrote: ‘Goodbye Tina! But upwards & onwards to a great future @michkeegan love you lots.’
