The Xtra Factor host Olly Murs couldn't turn Simon Cowell down

He’s gone from an X Factor runner-up to sell-out tours with JLS, topping the charts and landing a job alongside Caroline Flack hosting The Xtra Factor.

But when Now meets up with Olly Murs, 27, at his record label’s west London office, he’s still the same cheeky chappy we first met two years ago.

As he takes off his trademark trilby and relaxes on the sofa, the singer admits that he really didn’t see fame coming.

So who did Olly sleep with to get the job on The Xtra Factor?

‘[Laughs] No one!,’ he insists.

Simon Cowell asked me and you don’t say no to him, do you?

‘Saying that, I’m not scared of him.

I knew that if I’d said no, it could’ve been the worst decision I ever made.

‘I’m sure Cheryl Cole felt the same when asked to do US X Factor – she must’ve been like: “I can’t say no.”

‘It’s an incredible position to be in.’
