Fans could play their favourite characters

A Coronation Street computer game is being made for the Nintendo Wii.

ITV bosses have licensed it to celebrate the soap’s 50th anniversary on 9 December.

The format and style of the game is yet to be announced.

But it is thought fans will be able to play their favourite soap characters.

Special packs of Imperial Leather soap, Warburtons bread and Typhoo tea will also feature Corrie‘s 50th birthday logo.

And food firm Holland’s Pies is launching Betty’s Hot Pot in supermarkets in honour of character Betty Turpin‘s famous grub in the Rover’s Return.
