Surprise contestants are eliminated

Kingsland Road have made a shock exit from The X Factor.

The boyband were eliminated after they failed to impress the judges in the sing-off against Tamera Foster, who wowed the panel with her rendition of Whitney Houston‘s I Have Nothing.

Gary Barlow, the group’s mentor, was the only panellist to vote for the lads after they performed Blame It On The Boogie and he expressed shock that the two popular acts had ended up in the bottom two.

‘The public have got this wrong,’ the Take That singer ranted.

‘I’ve got to stick with my guys.’

Sam Callahan had been the favourite to be voted off before the show but was kept in by the viewers.

There was another shock elimination on Strictly Come Dancing where Countdown presenter Rachel Riley became the fifth contestant to leave the show.

Rachel, 27, and partner Pasha Kovalev found themselves in the dance-off against model Abbey Clancy, even though both gave impressive performances on Saturday night.

Abbey, 27, was in tears after being saved by the judges following her rumba with Aljaž Skorjanec.
