BBC show named Best Soap

EastEnders was the big winner at the British Soap Awards on Saturday night – scooping 10 trophies.

The BBC drama was named Best Soap and also took home gongs for Best Single Episode and Best Storyline.

Stars Scott Maslen and Lacey Turner won the Best Actor and Best Actress Awards.

Coronation Street bagged 3 prizes, while Emmerdale and Hollyoaks could only manage one win each.

Michelle Keegan, Patsy Palmer, Keith Duffy, Kym Marsh and Suzanne Shaw were just some of the guests at the London ceremony.  

The British Soap Awards will air on ITV1 on Wednesday 19 May.
