Ricci Guarnaccio is relieved his turbulent relationship with Vicky Pattison is over
But for the former hairdresser from Durham, 26, – who was dropped from the show earlier this year – it was love at first sight when they first met.
‘I’d been in a four-year relationship previously and told myself I’d marry the next girl I met,’ Ricci tells us.
‘That was Vicky and she was perfect.
‘I was totally in love with her but our relationship was even more volatile than Geordie Shore viewers saw on screen.
‘It sounds strange but when we weren’t fighting the relationship was amazing and the sex was brilliant.’
Ricci proposed but the wedding’s now off for good.
‘I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. But there were obviously some big issues there,’ he says.
‘When I look back, the engagement ring was like a Band-Aid.
‘Now Vicky and I have agreed to be mates. She’s returning the ring to me.
‘It’s been a tough time but I’m slowly putting my life back together.
‘But I’m not ready for another relationship yet. Splitting was the right thing to do.
‘I wanted a girlfriend who I’d marry and have kids with.
‘But Vicky and I are better off as friends.
‘No man deserves to be slapped.’
Vicky tells Now: ‘All I’ll say on this matter is that there are two sides to every story.
‘I don’t intend to go down the same route as my ex-partner and try to embarrass him.
‘I feel sorry for him as he’s clearly bitter since his dismissal from both Geordie Shore and my life.
‘I hope his ridiculous notion of events has brought him solace.’
