Health guru horrified by being stuck in a crate with cockroaches and rats
The nutritionist was shown competing against former MP Lembit Opik in the Crate Escape challenge last night – and getting hysterical after her cockroach and rat-filled ‘coffin’ started to get wet.
‘I wasn’t expecting anything in there,’ she explained, after being rescued.
‘I thought there was going to be tonnes of water on my face. I could feel myself passing out. I tried. I desperately tried. I have massive phobias that I’m facing.’
Gillian, 51, was given oxygen by camp doctor Bob and had to return to the Sheilas’ camp to tell the girls that they’d be dining on beans and rice after she lost the task.
‘I started to freak out,’ she told them. ‘I thought I was going to drown.’
Before she entered the I’m A Celebrity camp in Australia, Gillian admitted she’d never seen the show from start to finish.
‘I thought we did the jungle thing during the day,’ she said, ‘but we slept in a nearby hotel.’
