Creator Ryan Murphy in talks with singer's management

Glee bosses are planning to dedicate an entire episode to Britney Spears.

Creator Ryan Murphy has approached the singer’s management about getting approval to use her hit songs in the programme.

‘We’re talking to Britney,’ he confirms.

‘I think you have to be very careful on the show not to do too many tribute episodes. But she certainly has a huge body of work to pull from.’

Glee has already aired an episode focusing on Madonna and the cast have started filming a Lady Gaga tribute.

Ryan has also revealed that the team will honour Madge again next season.

‘We’re doing a sequel to the Madonna [episode],’ he tells Access Hollywood.

‘I can’t say [if she’ll make a cameo]. But she’s sort of the muse of our show. She loves the show and has supported it. She gets the show is about arts education and so she’s very supportive about that.’

An album called The Power Of Madonna, which was released to coincide with the episode, topped the US chart last month.

Glee airs on E4 in the UK on Monday nights at 9pm.
