Probably the worst people in the country to be rude to if you want public support...

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! was turning into a manual on how to have constructive and fun friendships this series until ITV threw in Danny Baker and Martin Roberts. And after Sunday night’s Bushtucker trial, it seems that the audience has turned against ‘rude’ Martin now!

The Homes Under The Hammer presenter was tasked to take on Hell Hollow, where he had to crawl from a cave to collect stars. It was dark and filled with snakes and other scary stuff. Basically, not he easiest of trials if you have any instincts.

Then he had to lie in the show’s trademark coffin, as it filled with water and snakes – still feeling sympathy for him, right? Who wouldn’t be stressed and scared?

In total, the host managed to accumulate eight out of twelve stars. However, during the task, he’d managed to collect another but he dropped them on the way out, meaning they weren’t counted.

Ant and Dec then told the star that they wouldn’t be counted: ‘You must’ve dropped them on the way out.’

Then he replied, sarcastically: ‘Thanks for that guys!’

Uh-oh, someone call the sarcy police... [ITV]

Oh noooooooo. That did NOT go down well with viewers, who felt like he was being very rude to the veteran presenters.

Big Brother‘s Georgina Leigh Cantwell said on Twitter: ‘Martin is really rude & how many years has the show been on, for him to know to put them in his POUCH! He just left them, idiot! #ImACeleb’

Another advised: ‘This Martin really shouldn’t speak like that to Ant and Dec if he wants the British public to like him #ImACeleb’

Despite this, many fans have expressed sympathy for him as well, feeling he is being picked on by the camp.
