TV watchdog Ofcom considering whether to investigate

ITV has received over 1,000 complaints following Rihanna and Christina Aguilera‘s saucy routines on The X Factor on Saturday night.

During her performance of What’s My Name? Rihanna, 22, stripped down to a skimpy bikini-style outfit and made a series of suggestive dance moves.

Later, Christina, 29, took to the stage for a raunchy version of Express, a song from her new movie, Burlesque.

Some viewers are upset that the red hot peformances were aired before the 9pm watershed.

TV watchdog Ofcom could now launch a probe.

Ofcom has received complaints about Saturday night’s X Factor,’ says a spokesman.

‘Like all complaints we will assess them against the broadcasting code and consider whether to investigate.’

X Factor makers Talkback Thames have defended the routines.

‘We are confident that the performances given by our guest artists on Saturday were appropriate for the show,’ a spokesman tells the Daily Mail.

Matt Cardle beat Rebecca Ferguson, 24, and One Direction to the title of The X Factor 2010 champion.

His single When We Collide is expected to become Christmas No 1.
