Dancing On Ice judge sorry for comment

Jason Gardiner has apologised to Sharron Davies after comparing her to excrement on Dancing On Ice.

The judge was unimpressed with the former Olympic swimmer’s performance and outfit on Sunday.

‘In your brown costume, it was like watching faecal matter before it’s flushed,’ said Jason. ‘It just goes round and round.’

Now Jason, 44, has made a U-turn after a public backlash.

‘On Sunday night’s Dancing On Ice I was criticising the performance of Sharron Davies and made some comments which may have caused offence to her and the viewers,’ he says.

‘For this I’m sorry and would like to apologise.’

Host Phillip Schofield also tried to clear things up on This Morning yesterday.

‘Now we know that Jason is well known for being outspoken and for being a bit controversial,’ he said.

‘But many people were offended last night and for that of course we apologise.’

TV watchdog Ofcom received a number of complaints from viewers.
