Strictly Come Dancing’s golden boy to replace Twitter flirt Jason
Matt Baker is tipped to take over as host of BBC‘s The One Show full time after shamed sex texter Jason Manford‘s resignation on Thursday.
Jason, 29, stepped down just
four months into the job after he admitted sending raunchy Tweets and
engaging in flirty Skype calls with female fans.
‘There were moments I thought: “I shouldn’t be saying that”,’ the married star confessed. ‘I have my own stupidity to blame.’
Ex-Blue Peter presenter Matt, who already hosts The One Show in the summer, also presents Countryfile.
He is already sitting in Jason‘s seat and co-hosting with Alex Jones until Wednesday this week – Chris Evans will fill in on Thursday and Friday‘s shows.
‘Matt ticks all the boxes and would be a solid choice to take over from Jason,’ a BBC source tells The Mirror.
‘All the bosses will be watching to see how he performs. He is definitely the front-runner.’
Champion gymnast Matt is a favourite to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
