Mark Wright's girl is leaving in dramatic fashion

Michelle Keegan has admitted that she wasn’t expecting to be killed off in Coronation Street.

The actress decided to quit the soap last year and will bow out when her character Tina McIntyre meets a grisly end in May, a plotline Michelle initially found quite upsetting.

‘I was shocked because it’s really final, do you know what I mean?’ says Michelle, 26.

‘And, if anything, I felt sorry for Tina because she’s been through so much. But getting a big storyline to leave on is what every actor wants.’

Michelle – who will soon move to Essex to live with fiancé Mark
Wright, 27 – thinks the dramatic exit will motivate her for the future as she can no longer return to Corrie.

‘It is [scary],’ the pretty brunette says.

‘The fact that I won’t be able to come back gives me more drive to continue to work and try and push myself now.

‘I think if I had Corrie as a safety net I’d always be thinking, “Oh, I might not do that because I can always go back to Corrie in a few months or a year.”

‘But now that’s not there, I will work for what I want. [Or I could come back as] a twin sister no one knew about!’
