Actor Hugh Jackman left with black eye after crashing into lighting rig

Hugh Jackman was left nursing a nasty black eye when a stunt went wrong during a taping of Oprah Winfrey‘s show in Australia on Tuesday.

The actor, 42, attempted to make a dramatic entrance by using a zip line to slide down to an outdoor stage from the Sydney Opera House.

But Hugh hit the brakes too late and crashed into a lighting rig instead, cutting his cheek directly under his right eye.

Filming was immediately suspended as paramedics rushed to his side.

After returning to stage with a visible bruise and plaster under his eye, Hugh told Oprah, 56, he had been distracted by the 6,000-strong crowd.

‘That was so much fun until the end,’ he said.

‘I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbour, saw my dad,
the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing. Totally my bad.’
