Caroline Flack pays an adorable tribute to outgoing X Factor host Dermot O'Leary

After being confirmed as one of the new X Factor hosts alongside Olly Murs, Caroline Flack knows they’ve got a hard act to follow.

Dermot O’Leary announced in March that he’d be leaving the show following eight successful years at the helm and Caroline, 35, has been quick to pay tribute to her predecessor.

On Friday she posted a cute snap of her, Dermot and Olly on her Instagram page and wrote: ‘Love this photo… Had so much encouragement from @radioleary . He the man ❤️’ Aw!

When the announcement was made about Caroline and Olly taking over from Dermot, 41, on Thursday, Caroline revealed that she was nervous about how she’d match up to Derm.

‘I’m beyond excited about presenting The X Factor with Olly. To have the privilege of doing this with someone who makes me laugh out loud is a massive bonus!’ said Caroline.

‘I’m also incredibly lucky to have the best tips and support from my showbiz big brother Dermot. I’m not sure how I can live up to his long term residency but I know I can’t let him down!’

We think Dermot will be supporting you all the way, Caroline!

Dermot was quick to show his love for Caroline and Olly, 30, on Twitter after the exciting news became public. The TV star Tweeted: ‘Huge congrats to @ollyofficial and @carolineflack1 be gentle with the old girl…that’s the show, not Louis.’

Caroline displayed her admiration for Dermot yet again by replying: ‘@radioleary thank you Dermot…. You’re the BEST! A true gentleman and my absolute favourite . X’

Later on she continued to praise her buddy and wrote: ‘the biggest shout out to my tv big brother @radioleary who has taught me everything I know (in telly that is ) He really is THE best x’

We’ve always loved Dermot just as much as Caroline clearly does but we don’t think she needs to worry about not matching up to him.

The pretty presenter and co-host Olly were a major hit with viewers when they fronted The Xtra Factor together in 2011 and 2012 and we can’t wait to see them reunited again!
