Corrie star moved by RSPCA appeal

Kym Marsh called This Morning live on air to offer a home to an abandoned dog.

The ITV show ran an appeal with the RSPCA and Battersea Dogs Home yesterday that featured six homeless pooches.

Within minutes of seeing a three-month-old retriever-cross puppy called Oliver, Coronation Street star Kym, 33, rang in to try to adopt him.

‘We can’t obviously just give Olly away, even to Kym, but we are putting her in touch with the RSPCA and they can hopefully sort it out between the two of them,’ said host Phillip Schofield.

‘So we may have homed one of our dogs already!’

This Morning are pleased with the success of the appeal.

‘It was a lovely way to end the show,’ a spokeswoman tells the Daily Record.

Kym was obviously moved by what she had seen. We are delighted to have been able to help the dogs get a home.’
