The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge told actress they can't wait for second series
Popular Sunday evening TV series Downton Abbey has been given the Royal seal of approval.
Jessica Brown-Findlay, who plays Lady Sybil Crawley, met Prince William and Kate at a party in Los Angeles and discovered the hit ITV period drama is a favourite with the newlyweds.
‘They said they’d watched the show and were excited to see the second series,’ Jessica reveals.
William is very handsome and Kate is a gorgeous girl. They make a
perfect couple. They seemed really at ease and so in love.
didn’t think when I was watching the wedding at home on TV that I’d get
to meet them. I was nervous the whole night, but what an honour! I’ll
never forget that.’
The show, which is currently off-screen, regularly attracted an astonishing 13 million viewers and has been sold around the world, making the cast global stars.
It’s back on air in September and moves on to 1914.
‘With the weight of the First World
War comes a lot more responsibility,’ Jessica, 21, tells the Sunday Express.
‘The biggest change in Sybil is in that young naivety of “surely everything could change”.’
