These reality show winners are now making a living their own way…

Jessica Garlick, 30

Pop Idol (2001-02)

Made: £75k

She came third for the UK in Eurovision 2002 but her music career never took off.

She’s now married to a personal trainer.

Steve Brookstein, 42

The X Factor (2004)

Made: 35k

The first X Factor winner has famously spoken out against the show after failing to hit the big time.

He’s since played smaller venues.

He’s said: In eight months, I got two gigs, an album of covers, one single, no video.’

 

Leon Jackson, 22

The X Factor (2007)

Made: £20k

His X Factor career crashed and burned but Leon isn’t giving up.

He’s touring festivals this summer in the hope of making waves once again.

 

Michelle McManus, 31

Pop Idol (2003)

Made: £20k

The Scottish star parted company with her management over a year after she won Pop Idol.

She struck out with her own record label but is now concentrating on presenting.

She currently fronts popular Scottish show The Hour.

 

Rik Waller, 30

Pop Idol (2001-02)

Made: £19k

He was forced to drop out of Pop Idol at the last minute, then set up his own recording company Coeur De Lion.

Unfortunately, reports say he only made £19,000.
