Bosses could employ first female Timelord

The next actor to take on the role of Doctor Who might be a woman.

Show bosses have considered appointing the first Timelady.

‘The more it’s talked about, the more likely it is to happen,’ show chief Russell T Davies tells The Sun.

‘Catherine Zeta Jones or Lesley Sharp would be brilliant.’

Catherine Tate, 40, and Goodness Gracious Me star Meera Syal are also said to be in the running.

David Tennant will star as The Doctor in five special episodes before standing down.

Several actors, including David Morrissey, 44, Martin Clunes, 47, and David Walliams, 37, have been tipped to replace him.
