Susannah York

Susannah York died yesterday at the age of 72.

The actress was being treated for bone marrow cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.

‘She was obviously an incredibly brave woman, because she didn’t complain at all,’ says her son Orlando Wells.

‘She was a truly, truly wonderful mother.’

Susannah, a mum of two, appeared in BBC TV dramas
Holby City and Casualty and starred in films including A Man For All Seasons, Battle of Britain and Tom Jones.

She won a Bafta for her role in 1969 film They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?
