Actress wears wig as she arrives on set

Sally Whittaker returned to Coronation Street yesterday for the first time since she revealed she has breast cancer.

The actress was diagnosed with the disease 6 months ago, while researching about her character Sally Webster‘s on-screen battle with the illness.

She only went public with her real-life drama earlier this month and has been off since.

But yesterday Sally was all smiles as she arrived back on the Manchester set to start filming again.

The 46-year-old, who is bald from treatment, wore a blonde wig for continuity purposes.

Sally and husband Tim Dynevor are parents to Phoebe, 15, Sam, 13, and Hattie, 6.
